Save a Turkey, Eat a Lobster

Forget about the Tur-Duck-In  and what in the heck is a Tofurkey???   Our friends in the Maine Lobster Industry remind us every year that just because it’s Thanksgiving, doesn’t mean we have to eat turkey.  There are people a whole lot smarter than me that claim Lobster, Clams and Cod were as big a part of the first thanksgiving as Turkey and  Beans.    If you believe the historians, the first thanksgiving didn’t even include sweet potatoes, corn on the cob, cranberry sauce or pumpkin pie.  Other foods that were apparently present on the dinner table at Thanksgiving #1 were Swan, Seal and Acorns.  Though we’re not suggesting those…

With lobster prices near rock bottom and bait and fuel at near record highs, our local lobstermen could use the help.  Each bite supports the state’s economy and rewards the hard working lobster families along our beautiful coast. They have worked hard all season providing the world with fresh Maine Lobster and now it’s time for us to honor tradition and feast on an authentic Thanksgiving treat.
